Trustee Vacancy • international development programme management, preferably within the African or Asian context If, however, you feel you have skills to offer that are not in these areas, please do get in touch by contacting the office using the email address given below. The prospective candidate should have an interest in international development, sound judgement, and empathise with the ethos and values of Target TB. Target TB was set up in response to the global TB emergency and provides funding, support and advice to community-based organisations in Africa and Asia. Together we work holistically to combat the causes and effects of TB, particularly working with poor and marginalised people affected by the disease. We are a member of the Stop TB partnership, a global coalition of individuals and organisations – including the World Health Organisation – who are committed to eradicating TB worldwide. Target TB’s work is also aligned with the 2nd Global Plan to Stop TB, which sets out the actions and resources needed to combat TB and achieve the targets set out in the Millennium Development Goals. There are currently 8 Trustees on Target TB’s governing board, who meet formally at least 4 times a year, in London and in Brighton, where the office is based. They bring specialist expertise to the organisation including financial, medical, international development, fundraising, management and leadership skills. The Board of Trustees provide accountability and invaluable skills and support to Target TB staff. Each Trustee is asked to brief themselves fully on the activities of one of our overseas partners, and to assume lead responsibility for the Board’s discussions and decisions relating to them. Closing date for applications: 6th February 2012 For further information and to receive an application pack, please contact: Janaki Jayasuriya, Finance and Office Manager: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
