|In 2012, you helped us to raise over £15,000 from our appeals, including our BBC Radio 4 appeal last Autumn and a bumper Christmas response.
That’s enough to train 468 local people as volunteer TB carers in Africa and Asia, helping people through their illness.
One of our team, Clare, saw just how your money is helping when she went to visit our project in India in January.
‘The Blossom Project’ is based in a poor area in Tamil Nadu and last year alone it helped 1,583 people to survive TB.
The team goes into local villages and draws a large crowd with an evening festival of song & dance and clowning. A serious message lies behind the fun – people are learning about how to recognise TB symptoms, how to prevent its spread and where to go for help. And they can talk to TB health workers right there and then.
