Target TB partners with organisations working directly with communities affected by TB in Asia and Africa. Our 12 partners are based in 7 countries, with some of the highest TB burdens in the world.

We focus our efforts in areas where health facilities are poorly developed and government services are struggling to meet demand. All our partners work with the National TB Programme of their country and adhere to the World Health Organization’s standard method of treatment for TB, Directly Observed Therapy Short-course (DOTS). Through cooperation with government health services, our partners will ultimately provide TB services which are fully integrated into National TB Programmes.

Like us, our partners are committed to the eradication of TB. Together we tackle the social and economic issues around TB as well as the disease itself by increasing awareness of TB, improving access to TB treatment and addressing the associated socio-economic issues - poverty, malnutrition, and HIV, among poor and marginalised communities.

Each year we help over 10,000 people access TB diagnosis and treatment and reach over 12 million people with health education.  We also support the training of over 1,800 local volunteers and health workers in basic TB control.

We strive to build meaningful relationships with our partners. As well as supporting their TB projects we also  help strengthen their organisational capacity so that projects can become fully sustainable. We work closely with our partners to identify and address skills gaps and training needs whilst providing ongoing mentoring and support for projects through regular communication and on site visits.

For more information on how we work in partnership see our partnership agreement.

Target TB Partnership Agreements

With each of our partners we sign an agreement which reflects the mutual commitment of Target TB and our partners to play a full and effective role in the global response to TB.

Target TB’s key partnership values are:

  • Value and respect the expertise of international partners.
  • Support locally appropriate work that conforms to and supports internationally agreed standards of TB control.
  • Document and share our experiences with other partners and relevant organisations allowing strong cross-country learning and contributing to worldwide efforts to tackle TB.
  • Support the TB elements of HIV/AIDS programmes
  • Recognise the association between TB and poverty and work to overcome deprivation for those affected by the disease.
  • Help strengthen our partner organisations, providing additional capacity building support and expertise as needed.
  • Take into consideration partners wishes when applying to donors on their behalf.

Our partnership agreement sets out standards for our relationship and explains the contributions expected by Target TB’s partners, together with what our partners can expect from us.

The partnership agreement also sets out how Target TB will monitor and evaluate the impact of grant funding provided, together with the associated financial requirements for grant management.
